How to implement WhatsApp Click to Chat on your WordPress Website

The instructions and screenshots below will show you to install it, configure it and use it on a newly created WordPress Website.

I’m using a easy to use and free plugin called Click to Chat by HoliThemes for this example.

There’s two parts to this:

Search, Install and Activate the WhatsApp Click to Chat plugin

#1 – Log into your WordPress Website’s Administrator account.

#2 – Navigate to Plugins and click on Add New

#3 – Search for Click to Chat and click on Install Now

Make sure it’s the Click to Chat By HoliThemes.

#4 – Once installed, click on Activate

#5 – Once it’s activated you’ll be redirected to the Plugins section on your WordPress Website

There’s just a few settings that you need to configure to get up and running.

#1 – By your plugins section, scroll down and click settings under the Click to Chat Plugin

#2 – Add your Business WhatsApp number Number and pre-filled message.

The pre-filled message will be sent to your from your client when they initiate the chat.

There’s a number of variables you can use. Please refer to the documentation.

#3 – Customize your Call to Action, Style and Position, or leave it as is for now

#4 – Customize the Display settings, or leave as is for now

#7 – When you are done, scroll to the bottom and click on Save Changes

#8 – You can now go back to the front end of your website and test the Plugin

The pro or paid version of the plugin provides a much more functionality than the free version we’ve just installed and configured.

The business hours feature is especially useful.

You’ll also be able to implement time and scroll delays which is beneficial to your customer and website experience.
